Keep laundry detergents and other detergents away from children.

Laundry detergents and other detergents

Laundry detergents and other detergents can be irritating to the skin, eyes and respiratory tract, especially if the detergents are concentrated. Products that can be particularly risky are dishwasher detergents, descaling agents and oven cleaners.

Some laundry detergents and other detergents can cause allergic reactions. If the product is corrosive, it can cause serious injury even in the event of short-term contact.

How to reduce the risk of accidents

  • Look for the warning label and read the information on the product packaging before opening so that you know how to use the laundry detergent or other detergent safely.
  • If you are going to use particularly strong agents, such as descalers or oven cleaners, it is a good idea to use rubber gloves and safety goggles.
  • Keep these agents out of the sight and reach of children.

In case of an accident

Call 112 and request Poisons Information if someone has ingested an agent that may be corrosive or has accidentally gotten a potentially corrosive agent on the skin.
