The Swedish Chemicals Agency (KemI) collaborates with organisations such as UNDP, UNEP, FAO and IPCS inproviding funding and expertise for workshops, development of guidance documents etc.
In its global work on chemicals management, KemI focuses on the implementation of the chemical conventions and SAICM (Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management).
KemI supports awareness raising and capacity building in civil society, through co-operation with NGOs.
KemI is engaged in the following programs:
- Facilitation of legal, technical and institutional infrastructures on sound management of chemicals in developing countries and countries with economies in transition.
- Support to the gobal monitoring of POPs for the evaluation of the effectiveness of the Stockholm convention.
- Mainstreaming sound management of chemicals into MDG-based national development plans.
- Chemicals work and non-governmental organisations.
