Apply for authorisation
Before a pesticide may be sold in Sweden it must be authorised by the Swedish Chemicals Agency (KemI). Pesticides are defined in the Environmental Code as a chemical or biological product that is intended to prevent or deter animals, plants or microorganisms, from causing damage or detriment to human health or damage to property (Chapter 14, section 2, the Swedish Environmental Code).
Pesticides that are not plant protection products are regarded as biocidal products.
Pesticides sold in Sweden must also be notified to KemI's Products Register, see Product report.
