In 2005, the Swedish Chemicals Agency (KemI) and the Swedish international development co-operation agency (Sida) extended their co-operation and in 2006 they signed a framework agreement on international co-operation.
The work programme includes activities in partner countries and regions in Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia.
The aim of this undertaking is to make it possible for partners in co-operation to strengthen their situation in relation to the UN Millenium development goals.
New agreements with Sida
In addition to the ITP programmes, KemI recently extended cooperation with Sida on bilateral collaboration with India and South-Africa to develop institutions for chemicals control and legislation.
In cooperation with Austria and France, KemI will also start a bilateral project in Tunisia, which will be financed by the European Commission.
